Spetses

Spetses, taken its name from its fragrant flora as the Venetians discovered it once upon a time and named it Spezia, the aromatic island. This is an island that you chose it for its quiet atmosphere, its authenticity and natural beauties. A Greek hidden gem, located near Athens, close to its famous neighbour Hydra, it is frequented by Greek families and friends. The sense of intimacy you find on the island has made its reputation in luxury travel, far away from the flash of Mykonos or Santorini. Its traditional architecture is striking, so is its rich Greek history.

But what really gives Spetses the true sense of holidays is its pedestrian-friendly nature: only a few service cars, no big road, nor touring buses nor flocks of traffic. Travel here is elegantly done by horse-drawn carriage, water taxi, scooters, bicycles or simply, on foot! What a disconnection this is.Just at one nautical mile (1.6 km) away from the passage of Kosta, near Porto Heli in the Peloponnese, where a local ferry travels from port to port at a regular daily schedule and also accessible via catamaran from Piraeus, the main port of Athens, Spetses becomes accessible 24/7.
